How do schools in Uganda manage transport and pupil pickup?

Schools on PlusBoda manage transport from a web dashboard: a pupil roster with photos and home pins, a van fleet where seat capacity is enforced, staff onboarded by one-time role codes, and parent enrollments and address changes that the school approves before they take effect — all audited.

The dashboard, tab by tab

The roster holds every pupil by class — photo required, because drivers identify children by face — with guardian details and a home location picked on a map. The van fleet holds each vehicle with a required photo, seat count, one assigned driver and its riders; the security rules themselves refuse to overfill a van beyond its seats. Staff management issues one-time codes that a driver, conductor or class teacher redeems in the app to earn exactly their role.

A requests tab gates the outside world: new parent enrollments and home-address changes wait there for the school to confirm or reject, with a full audit history. Nothing reaches a bus without the school saying so.

On the road

Drivers get an optimised pickup route and turn-by-turn navigation; conductors mark pupils on and off the bus; class teachers record who collects each child at the gate. Every change stamps who made it and when. Parents, meanwhile, watch the one bus that carries their child — live.

Quick questions

Is the school dashboard free to try?

A school can create its account at plusboda.com/school and set up its roster and fleet. Contact PlusBoda via the support page for onboarding help.

Can a school have more than one administrator?

Yes — the owner can grant co-admins full dashboard access, while the school's own identity and the admin list stay owner-only.

How do drivers and conductors get access?

The school issues one-time role codes from the dashboard; staff redeem them in the PlusBoda app to earn exactly the roles granted.
