One app, three jobs
PlusBoda does three things. First, everyday rides: you pick a destination, see real vehicles nearby with a measured arrival time and an upfront fare in shillings, and choose a boda, tuk-tuk or car. Second, deliveries: shops and individuals send parcels with riders, and every handoff closes with a mandatory photo as proof. Third, school transport: schools run their bus fleet on a dashboard at plusboda.com/school, staff mark pupils on and off the bus, and each parent follows the one bus their child is actually on — live.
Everything is built Uganda-first: fares in Shs, payments by cash, MTN MoMo or Airtel Money made directly to your driver (PlusBoda does not process payments in the app), and an interface available in English, Luganda, Swahili and Acholi.
What makes it different
Honesty in the small print. The "minutes away" you see is measured from real, live drivers near you — when none are nearby, the app says so instead of promising a phantom pickup. The fare you choose on is the fare you ride on. Driver identities are verified, and every vehicle photo is checked by AI before a vehicle can carry passengers.
And unlike ride apps built for capital cities only, PlusBoda serves northern Uganda: Gulu is a launch city, not an afterthought.
